Infosec IQ allows you to add training modules to an Learning Management System (LMS) by providing downloadable SCORM packages. Once a SCORM package is added to a course in an LMS, you can assign, track and manage your learners’ training within the LMS. Additionally since the SCORM packages are tied to the Infosec IQ content library, you always get the latest version of the training module. You can also track overall usage of those training modules within Infosec IQ. Note, however, that Infosec IQ can only track the number of views for each module.
Note: The SCORM as a Service feature is available only at the Enterprise plan level.
SCORM Module Details
The SCORM package provides you with the following:
- A link to the live content in Infosec IQ, so you always have the latest version of the training video for the module, along with a table of contents and the accompanying closed-captioning information.
- The package is built using SCORM version 1.2 and includes completion tracking, but not progress tracking.
- If the original Infosec IQ content contained interactive elements, the SCORM version of the module will not have those elements.
- Access to SCORM-enabled modules is limited by the number of learners in your system, as follows. For each module, you are allowed 5 views per Infosec IQ learner within a rolling 12-month period.
Note: Downloaded SCORM packages do not include branding or interactive exercises. As a result, the duration may differ from what is shown in the content library.
Using SCORM as a Service
Find and Download a SCORM package from the Content Library
- In the Infosec IQ portal, navigate to Content Library.
- Use the “SCORM as a Service” filter to see the modules that can be downloaded as a SCORM package…
- Hover over the download icon on the tile for the course you want to download, and click on the language for which you want to download the SCORM package. A .zip file will be downloaded to your computer.
- You can now add this module to a course within your LMS. Because this SCORM package is essentially a link to the live training module provided by Infosec IQ, your LMS learners will always see the latest version of this module. Note however, that the SCORM version of the module will not contain the interactive elements of the module.
Track SCORM module usage in Infosec IQ
Although you’ll be using the LMS for detailed tracking and management of your learners, you can still track views of modules in Infosec IQ from the SCORM as a Service page.
- In the Infosec IQ portal, navigate to AwareEd > SCORM as a Service. Here you will find a table with the Name, Language, Views (within the previous 12 month period), Total Allowed Views (within any 12 month period) and the Most Recent View date for each SCORM module that you’ve downloaded.
- If you have downloaded a large number of SCORM modules, you can use the Search feature to narrow the list of modules shown in the table, or use the page navigation at the bottom of the table to page through the list or to jump to a specific page.
